The Astrology of Snake-bites!

Will you get bitten by a snake? What astrological configurations in your birth horoscope might make you the object of a snake's wrath?
There is a popular saying in India which goes: "Even an army trembles in fear upon the sight of a snake". That may not be a great exaggeration by any standards. Snakes are creepy, poisonous, deadly critters that can send shivers down the spine of even the bravest of the brave, oxymoronic as it may sound.
It's a well-known fact that some people encounter snakes all their lives but never get stung by one. Snakes are even known to look away and change their paths when they come across certain people. In contrast, some people get bitten by snakes, even fatally, while they may take great care to avoid them at all cost.
The science of Indian astrology gives clues and fore-warnings through the natal horoscope about the possibility that one might get bitten by snakes.
Here are a couple of planetary combinations in the birth chart that render a person susceptible to snake-bite:
[1] Rahu and Mandi together in the 2nd house. Why particularly the 2nd house? The 2nd house, as is the 7th house, is a maraka sthana or position of death in India Astrology. The 2nd house is more powerful than the 7th house in inflicting death.
[2] Rahu in dusthana or evil houses 6, 8, 12 may make the native a victim of snake bite or ingestion of some poison. Such a native, during Rahu dasa or bukthi, becomes highly vulnerable to snake bite or danger from some poison or the other. To add to the severity of the combination, if Rahu transits the 6th, 8th, or 12th house at that time, occurrence of the specified evil can be said to be almost certain. It should be noted that Rahu is karaka (or significator) for snakes as well as poisonous and inflammatory substances.
